Never join in a new yarn in the center of a row unless working a picture kit. Join a new yarn at the beginning of a row, leaving a tail to be darned in later. If you must join a new yarn in the middle of a row, leave enough of a tail from the old yarn and the same length from the new yarn at the back of the work and darn them in later. Never knot the ends together.
