For this hat, you will need approximately 180 yards of super bulky weight yarn. I used 2 skeins of Loops & Threads Cozy Wool yarn in sapphire. I would say this is an intermediate pattern, due to the cable stitch pattern and construction technique. Although an adventurous beginner could probably master it as well. Skills needed to complete this hat include: picking up stitches, knit, purl, basic shaping, knitting in the round, 3 needle bind off, and knowledge of basic knitting abbreviations.
