This pattern was inspired by a mitten I spied at a knitting store in Ithaca, NY. The store owner couldn’t locate the printed pattern or even identify it, so I decided to just to write my own. I’d like to credit the mysterious designer of that first mitten. Credit should also go to the book Cables and Arans, edited by Erika Knight from Interweave Press, which supplied the central cable pattern for the mitten.
