This Pattern is worked in joined rounds to start, and then flows into a spiral, quite naturally. As one diamond grows, the other comes to it’s peak. The cable bands divide the cowl into sections, -offering texture and visual appeal.

With the placement of stitches, the pattern takes an almost knit look, and yet is clearly crochet. The stitches in this piece are either worked around the post, or are worked into the post. Everything lines up, and yet it spirals, and turns. Links to video tutorials are included, as well as pictures for some of the less known techniques.

Exactly how I did it, I do not know. My sample actually has 5 Diamonds, and the pattern is written for 4. To make yours with 5 Diamonds, Increase your foundation by 18, and follow the pattern.

Regardless of the yarn chosen for this project, using a hook that is lofty will offer the best result. The design holds it’s shape yet gives way to softness.

I know it is my own design, but I love this cowl. it feels good, it wears well, and I get compliments on it every time I wear it.

In the refreshing of this pattern 9 wonderful ladies stepped up, and provided wonderful pictures of their cowl. Many of these ladies had never used some of the stitches in this design. Judge for yourself, I would say they did a fantastic job.
