A sweet, top-down cardigan with a garter stitch yoke, a cabled heart edging down the front, and one skein of a gorgeous, superwash fingering yarn makes this a terrific heirloom gift for a special baby.

The pattern is written and charted, and is suitable for an Intermediate knitting (or an adventurous Advanced Beginner).
You need to understand top-down construction, how to work a M1L and M1R, how to work in the round (for the sleeves), and how to pick up stitches.

The finished chest measurements are 19.5 (21.75, 23, 25)“ and the back length is 9.5 (10, 11, 12)”.

While it is styled for a baby girl, you can easily make this for a boy by switching the directions for the front edgings.
