These headband/hat patterns are designed to fit a medium sized head. The size is easily altered by simply lengthening or shortening the size of the foundation headband. As long as the number of stitches used to knit the hat is divisible by 8, the pattern will work, though you may need to increase or decrease the number of inches worked prior to the decrease rows.
