Knit flat with cables, garter and stockinette stitches, this motif highlights a smaller square suited for worsted to aran weight yarns. Familiar in forest themed and rustic throws, afghans and garments, the cabled owl is unembellished in this design. The stockinette owl sits atop a reverse stockinette background and is centered within a 6” square. This would be an excellent ‘first cables’ project for the adventurous beginner knitter.
