This seamless set-in sleeve pullover is worked from the top down. It begins with stitches cast on for the upper back which is worked back and forth in rows. The armholes are shaped with increases worked each edge. The back stitches are then placed on a waste yarn while the front is worked.
The front begins in two sections. The shoulder stitches are taken on the needle and the neck stitches remain on the waste yarn. Left and right shoulders are worked simultaneously untill they are joined together and the armholes are shaped with increases to match the back. At the base of armholes, extra stitches are cast on between the front and back for the underarms and the body is worked in one piece to the lower edge.
Stitches for the sleeves are picked up along the armhole edge and worked with short rows to shape a cap. Then the stitches are joined for working in rounds. If you would prefer to knit the sleeve flat you can work the sleeve in back and forth rows and sew after the sleeve is finished.
Finally, stitches are picked up around the neck for the neckband.
