These mitts were made to complete a set with the Hermione Hat I made for a friend. They came out very nicely and I think make a nice set.

Though it has cables, the cables are very simple and are written out rather than charted. This would be an excellent project for someone wanting to learn how to make cables.

The mitts are thicker knitted up, since the yarn is fairly thick for US 5 needles. Though the pattern is written in one size, the mitts themselves are entirely ribbed so they would fit a variety of hand sizes and shapes. I also made them fairly short because I don’t like longer mitts, but it would be easy enough to add another repeat of the cable-eyelet pattern to make them longer.

They also don’t take much yarn, so they are easy to make as a match to hats with leftover yarn.
