The “Cables for” series of patterns has been designed to honor my regular and long term testers:
• Ingrid Rosendahl
• Kim Lategan
• Valerie Burton
These ladies have been loyal and supportive testers since I started designing in October 2016 and I thought it would be a nice gesture to honor them with a pattern especially designed, and named, for each of them. Their enthusiasm is a great motivator for me. No sooner have they finished testing and they are asking for the next pattern.
There are 3 patterns in the series, i.e.:
• Cables for Ingrid
• Cables for Kim
• Cables for Valerie
All 3 patterns are for luxurious, textured throws. You have the option to make these in 4 Ply (Super Fine/Fingering #1), Double Knit (Light Worsted #3) or Aran (Heavy Worsted #4) weight yarn – this version is very heavy. Your yarn selection will determine the size of the finished throw.
The ribbed border for these throws is worked at the same time as the main body of the throws. This gives a very professional edge to the throw.
Cables may look intimidating, but they are not all that difficult to do.
All 3 patterns are worked over a repeat of 12 rows. Once the pattern is established in the 1st repeat, it becomes quite easy to keep track of the pattern and the stitch counts. There is a video tutorial provided in support of the written pattern.
