Set your keys apart with this Cactus Keyring crochet pattern. These little fellas are worked up in a DK acrylic yarn for that authentic cactus fuzz, but can easily be substituted for a cotton in the same weight.

This easy to follow design makes use of basic half treble crochet for a quick and simple construction. If you can double crochet and half treble crochet then you can make this cactus keyring. There is a some sewing to finish, but nothing super complicated.

The finished result is a super cute little cactus keyring which is big enough to help you to find your keys, but not so big that it won’t fit in your pocket! But don’t limit yourself; use your imagination and make several cacti to create a fun bunting to brighten up a room, or glue a magnet to the back of one of them to liven up your fridge door or noticeboard. The possibilities are endless!

SIZE:
The pattern produces a cute cactus measuring approximately 3.5in (9cm) wide including the arms and 2.75in (7cm) tall.

YARN:
You can use any DK yarn you have lying around in your yarn stash, but the samples in the photos are worked up using Women’s Institute Premium Acrylic DK (1 100g ball = 250m (274yd)).

Approximate yardage: 37.5m (41yd) of green dk for the cactus and 5m (5.5yd) of another colour dk for the flower

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS:
4mm crochet hook
Tapestry needle to sew together and weave in the ends
A small amount of toy stuffing
A split ring
