Caeli Shawl
Caeli (pronounced Kie lee) is Latin for heaven, and the Caeli Shawl is just a little bit of heaven! The lace is quick and easy to work up and looks amazing even with variegated colorways. Plus, the sparkle in Oink Pigments Disco adds an extra starry touch!
Worked as a top-down triangle, the Caeli Shawl features a 4-row repeat that can easily be adjusted for size. Though the stitch pattern looks gorgeously complex, it uses just basic crochet techniques, making it accessible even to a beginner crocheter.

Sample
Sample used Oink Pigments Disco (fingering weight; 92% sw merino/8% lurex sparkle; 405yds/115g), 405yds/115g in Cordially Invited
Thanks to Oink Pigments for providing the yarn for the pattern sample!
Gauge
8 rows = 4”/10cm measured down the spine. Gauge is not essential to this pattern as a shawl that is slightly larger or smaller will still fit nicely, and the shawl can also be easily adjusted to size. Gauge may vary based on how you block. Differences in gauge will change the finished size and will also impact the yardage required.
Yarn, Yardage, and Colors
The Caeli Shawl is the perfect stash buster - it uses just one skein and works well in any color, no matter how variegated. I would not recommend it for a gradient as it will not adequately show off the color changes, plus it can be challenging to calculate the edging to use up every scrap, but the Caeli Shawl works well with solids, tonals, speckles, or variegateds.
The sample is shown in fingering, but the pattern works well in anything from a lace to a worsted weight, and it can easily be adjusted to work with any yardage.

Screen Reader Compatibility
The main pattern pdf is designed to be screen reader compatible. The text is all in one column and headers are formatted according to the style sheet. The pattern is written out completely and the images have descriptive alt text. Please note that the edging has nested repeats, which may make it more challenging to follow with a screen reader.
