Welcome to the Caitlin square mosaic crochet pattern. This is a versatile pattern intended for beginners all the way to expert crocheters and can be used for a variety of projects: large blankets, baby blankets, pillows, table runners and coverings, and can be used with almost any sized yarn.

This pattern comes with easy-to-follow instructions on how to create the Caitlin square, inspiration for blankets, border suggestions, and a grid for those who like to work from one. (Note: not all grids in this collection can be used for straight across crochet, if that is your preferred method instead of in the round, some would have to be modified to fit the mosaic style. The grid is mainly there to give you an idea of what the pattern will look like. If you choose to follow the grid for in the round, please note that the chain 2 corner is not on the grid. The corners on the grid end up being the first/last stitch of the row.)

Finished squares using light to medium weigh yarn will measure anywhere from 10.5 inches to 14.5 inches blocked. Final sizes depend on the size and weight of your yarn and hook.
For the sample in these instructions I made a baby blanket using Bernat Softee Baby solid yarn (362 yds/ 331m, 5oz/140g) 100% acrylic in colors Pink Marl (3 skeins), Flannel (3 skeins), and a 4mm hook. Each square measured approximately 10.5 inches blocked. 6 skeins were enough to make 9 squares and a simple border with yarn left over to expand the border if you choose.
Each square is 27 rounds.
