Calendula
Back when I was little, my father used to take me flower picking in a field down the road from our house. We’d come home with fistfuls of brilliant yellows, whites, and oranges, and put them in Mason Jars all over our breezy farmhouse. The gold of this yarn spoke to me of those memories.
For those of you who know me well, my father passed away unexpectedly five years ago. This dress is my homage to those beautiful times I had in my life with him. Now I have two little girls who my husband and I can do this with. I wanted to create something sweet and simple, like those memories of the smallest things that meant the most.
The yellow flowers on this dress are textured and subtle, because just like the childhood of your little ones, they can slip away unnoticed if you don’t look closely. But for those who do pay attention, the beauty is those small things is rewarding and clear!
