Calico Cloche Hat
Calico
“multi-colored or mottled animal (cat); also means a tightly woven cotton cloth having a repeating, often floral design.”
This unique vintage-inspired cloche features a rolled brim and bell shaped structure. It is a wonderful introduction to simple color-work for beginner knitters using only one colored yarn at one time! It is also a great project for experimenting with colors! Great for newbie knitters wanting to progress and for experienced knitters wanting a breezy knit.
The sample was knitted with a tonal yarn as the main color and a hand-painted yarn as the contrasting color. You can combine a tonal/ hand-painted color with a solid color, two solid colors together or even a solid color with scrap yarns, whichever way you choose, you are sure to have a fun color adventure with this project!
