California Dreamin' Socks
“All the leaves are brown (all the leaves are brown)
And the sky is grey (and the sky is grey)
I’ve been for a walk (I’ve been for a walk)
On a winter’s day (on a winter’s day)
I’d be safe and warm (I’d be safe and warm)
If I was in L.A. (if I was in L.A.)
California dreamin’ (California dreamin’) On such a winter’s day”
California Dreaming is a famous song of the 60’s by “The Mamas and the Papas”. The yarn I used for this pair of socks just made me think of it: the brown and grey mingle with a soft blue and, since winter starts as soon as I feel the need to wear socks, it was clear to me that this song should serve as an inspiration. I created these socks working from the calf towards the toe, on my dpn needles (you can go for your favorite two circulars or Magic Loop as you wish). They are a rather quick knit to make, since, the small, lace element is placed as a detail of the design. Just so that you don’t waste time knitting those and yet, interested enough by the pattern.
