“Calìgo” (the word for “fog” in the dialect spoken in Trieste) is a short oversized top down sweater.
Using the first colour, knitting starts with the strips at the shoulders. Next, stitches are picked up along the long sides of these two strips; at the same time, the neckline stitches are cast on. All of these stitches will be used to knit the front. The three colours will be used to knit stripes in reverse stockinette stitch and when completed, the yoke stitches will be left unworked for the time being. The back is knit in the same way as the fronts.
Now the pieces are joined in the round and the reverse stockinette stitch stripes continue from the top down, ending with a twisted rib border worked in the first colour.
Now the stitches along the armholes are picked up and the short sleeves are worked in the first colour. The sleeves are completed by a twisted rib border in the first colour.

XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL) to fit bust size 76 (86, 96, 106, 117, 127) cm – 30 (34, 38, 42, 46, 50) in.
Shown in size M with bust size 96 cm – 38 in and with 26 cm – 10 ¼ in of positive ease.

Neck circumference: 52 (52, 54, 54, 56, 56) cm – 20 ½ (20 ½, 21 ¼, 21 ¼, 22, 22) in.

21 sts and 29 rows/rounds = 10 cm – 4 in in reverse st st (after blocking).

BORGO DE’ PAZZI Amore 240 (Fingering weight yarn: 70% Wool Merino, 25% Polyamide, 2% Rayon, 2% Acrylic and 1% Polyester; 240 m – 262 yds / 50 g – 1.76 oz. ball):
First colour (C1): 111 (baby blue); 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3) balls (384 443, 480, 550, 597, 672 m – 420 485, 425, 602, 653, 735 yds);
Second colour (C2): 103 (beige); 1 (1, 1, 2, 2, 2) balls (184 213, 230, 269, 297, 343 m – 202 233, 252, 295, 325, 376 yds);
Third colour (C3): 138 (baby yellow); 1 (1, 1, 2, 2, 2) balls (184 213, 230, 269, 297, 343 m – 438 493, 525, 624, 700, 755 yds).
Circular needles:
3.5 mm – US 4 with a 40 cm – 16 in and an 80 cm – 32 in cable. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

1 stitch marker.
Scrap yarn.
Tapestry needle and scissors.
Pins and a tape measure for blocking.

“Calìgo” (in dialetto triestino “nebbia”) è un maglione corto lavorato dall’alto verso il basso.
Con il primo colore, si incominciano gli inserti posizionati sulle spalle. Successivamente, sui lati lunghi di questi, vengono riprese delle maglie; contemporaneamente verranno montate a nuovo le maglie per lo scollo. La somma di tutte queste maglie andrà a formare il davanti. Si lavorerà a maglia rasata rovescia a righe usando i tre colori e successivamente le maglie dello sprone verranno lasciate in sospeso. Si procederà allo stesso modo per il dietro.
Quindi si unirà il lavoro in tondo e si continuerà a lavorare a maglia rasata rovescia a righe dall’alto verso il basso. Si terminerà con un bordo a coste ritorte usando il primo colore.
Si riprenderanno le maglie lungo gli scalfi e si lavoreranno le corte maniche, usando il primo colore, completandole con un bordo a coste ritorte.

XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL) vestono un giro seno di 76 (86, 96, 106, 117, 127) cm.
Le foto si riferiscono alla taglia M indossata da una modella con un giro seno di 98 cm e con un agio di 34 cm.
