Caligo includes three designs: headband, hat and slouchy hat. All three start with the headband which is knit flat. For the hat we pick up stitches from the headband and create the crown knitting in the round to the top of the head or a little longer for the slouchy version.

Sizing
With this design you can easily adjust the size of your headband. This avoids unnecessary frogging. The hat is designed to fit the average woman’s head size.

Gauge
Aran: In stockinette stitch 13 sts x 20rs = 10x10cm / 4x4in
Worsted: In stockinette stitch 18 sts x 27rs = 10x10cm / 4x4in

Gauge is not crucial because this design allows you to customize the size. More important is wheter you like the density of knitwork. I prefer dense knitwork for winter hats so I used 4.5mm/US 7 needle for the headband and 5mm/US 8 needle for the crown.

Caligo obsahuje tři návody. Čelenku s copem ze tří pramenů, přiléhavou čepici a její padavou variantu. Pro všechny tři návody si nejprve vytvoříme čelenku, kterou pleteme na plocho a po dosažení zamýšlené délky spojíme její konce. Tím vytvoříme kruh. Pro oba typy čepice si nabereme oka z čelenky a pleteme v kruhu až po vršek hlavy.

Velikost
Velikost čelenky si snadno přizpůsobíme velikosti hlavy. Díky tomu se vyhneme zbytečnému párání. Vrchní část čepice je navržena na průměrně velikou ženskou hlavu.
