Welcome to the “Calla Lily Shawl” Crochet Along!

I’m thrilled to introduce you to a design concept that I have had as a seedling (pun intended) in my head for quite a while: The Flora Collection. In this collection, we’ll be exploring nature’s beauty and textures in crocheting. The first “baby” of this collection showcases one of my favorite flowers, the Calla Lily, on a shawl.

My goal with this piece was to create a wearable so we can share our creations with others. The world can surely use beauty and nature, hopefully, we can all spread a bit of both through our crocheting, don’t you think?

The shawl is a vortex shape worked with a main color yarn and a self-striping yarn using techniques that I developed to require minimum color change, sewing and especially minimum weaving ends (one of my personal pet peeves).

I hope you enjoy creating this wearable garden as much as I did! I’d love to see your progress pictures as we start the CAL. If you post your pics on social media with #callalilyshawl or #bonitapatterns I’ll be lurking all over to check your progress.
