Callen the Magic Candle
Notes:
This would be considered an advanced beginner skill level pattern. It is made entirely by single crochet, but you must have a clear understanding of single crochet increase/decrease. You must also know how to do bobble stitch as well as be able to know how to work in the blo!
Materials:
You will need yarn, 3.50 mm crochet hook, 2.50 mm crochet hook, stitch markers, safety eyes, scissors, and poly-fill for stuffing. You may also need some chalk pastels for shading your candle! Optionally you may want to use hot glue to assemble parts of your candle instead of sewing!
Let’s talk about yarn!
You will need #4 worsted weight yarn for this project. I used 125 yard of Red Heart Super Saver in the color Buff. You will also need 15 yards of yellow for the flame. I used Red Heart Super Saver for that as well.
Final Measurements:
Finished candle will be 8 inches tall. The candle will measure about 5 inches wide.
Gauge:
Gauge is not important for this pattern. You just want to make sure your stuffing does not poke through the holes of your work.
Other Important Information!
You can you any type of safety eyes you would like for this project. If using rounds safety eyes, I suggest using size 24.00 mm. I used almond shaped eyes. Here is where I purchased my eyes:
