Calli Cowl
This is the fourth pattern in a series of patterns which utilizes the very back loop of half double crochet, which is one of my favorite crochet techniques that creates a knit-look. This pattern is perfect for the fall weather! It works up super fast, uses just one skein of weight 6 yarn (discussed on the next slide), and is lightweight yet cozy. ’m naming it after my partner, Calli, who is the most thoughtful person I know and makes my life better every day. I love you, Calli!
What You’ll Need:
Tools: 10.00 mm crochet hook (or size needed to obtain gauge), scissors, measuring tape
Yarn: Roughly 90 yards/80 meters of a super bulky weight 6 yarn. One skein of my holy grail yarn, Wool Ease Thick and Quick from Lion Brand, will work perfectly! The prints / metallics / stripes have slightly less yardage but still enough for this pattern and work up especially beautifully.
Construction Notes:
Your starting chain of 50 chains should measure 27 inches. Go up or down a hook size until you’ve reached the correct length.
With that being said, you can certainly make your starting chain longer or shorter to customize the size, and add or subtract rows to achieve the fit you want.
Note that the instructions here, though, are designed to give you just enough yarn to make this cowl using just one skein of Wool Ease Thick and Quick!
