Calliope Cowlette
Calliope combines the appearance of wearing a shawlette with the ease of wearing a cowl – I call these hybrid designs cowlettes. The stitch patterns used are rich in texture and, while they will look great in any color, they were specifically chosen to bring out the best in variegated yarns. Slipped stitch patterns, a wavy lace edge, and a scalloped i-cord bind off will show off those gorgeous hand dyed, multi-color skeins that are sometimes tricky to work with.
Calliope is knit seamlessly, top-down from one skein of KimDyesYarn Shortbread DK. The sample is shown in the Mosaic colorway whose sweet, summery colors reminded me of a carousel, inspiring the name. Pattern includes written and charted directions.
