Calliste
Pattern details
Calliste is a light, lacy beanie inspired by the plant genus of Callistemon. It utilises a simple, memorisable lace pattern and slipped stitches to resemble the iconic bottlebrush flowers that herald Australian spring.
Sizes range from infant to adult, with both written and charted lace instructions. It is a versatile pattern that includes directions for a single or double brim and different length options.
Calliste is the perfect hat for transitional weather and makes for a great gift knit. The pattern is perfect for getting the maximum impact out of semisolid and solid colours!
Yarn
This pattern calls for DK weight yarn. I recommend Superwash wool for excellent stitch definition.
The red sample uses Cleckheaton Superfine Merino 8ply in Red. It has a double brim and a snug fit.
The pink sample uses Wren and Ollie Spin DK in Peony. It has a single brim and a slouchy fit.
