Callisto is a light and elegant Top perfect for warmer weather. The subtle design details give this garment its unique character. The wide neckband frames the face and at the same time allows the yarn of the centre front panel to show off all its beauty. The ruffled hem of the front and back pieces nicely complements the A-line of the garment. The 3/4 sleeves make this Top very comfortable to wear.

In this sample the centre front panel is worked in hand-dyed yarn that is full of color and intensity for a romantic look. For a more ethereal look chose a brushed yarn. Alternatively, a boucle yarn could knit up to a very beautiful textured fabric.

Construction Notes:

Callisto Top is worked flat, bottom-up. It is an easy and relaxing knit to make, worked almost entirely in Stockinette stitch. The centre front panel is worked in the simplest intarsia colorwork. The 3/4 sleeves are set-in. A wide ribbed hem is used for the sleeves and neckband and a ruffle hem is used for the front and back pieces.

Techniques used:

Increases, decreases, bind off, intarsia colorwork, chart-reading skills or ability to follow written instructions, seaming, setting in sleeves. Links to video tutorials are included in the pattern for easier execution of techniques.
