TECHNICAL INFORMATION
MATERIALS
YARN: Worsted (9 wpi) 55% Manufactured Fibers – Acrylic, 30% Wool
15% Camelid – Alpaca, 273 yards (250 meters). 100 grams (3.53 ounces)
I used Alize Alpaca Royal (New) yarn
For 1 shawl 765 yards (700 m) 280 grams (10.59 ounces)-3 balls
For shawl body 546 yards (500 m)-2 balls
For shawl border edge 219 yards (200 meters)

INSTRUMENTS
• NEEDLES US 8– 5.0 mm
(I used circular needles with detachable cable 60cm/24” and then detachable cable 80cm/32”).
• HOOK 3.5 mm-E-4
• NOTIONS
• Tapestry needle

• Scissors
• Blocking pins
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Approx. • full shawl length – 67,7 inches (172 cm) from one end of the shawl to the other (after blocking) and • shawl width-39 inches (100 cm).
GAUGE
20 stitches and 24 rows = 4” (10 cm) in stockinette, after blocking
Gauge is flexible in this shawl pattern, allowing you to knit it with various yarn weights for endless possibilities.
DIFFICULTY LEVEL- INTERMEDIATE You should be able to comfortably use techniques: knit & purl, cast-on & bind-off, increasing (KFB -knit front and back), SLWYIF-slip purlwise with yarn in front, YO-yarn over, M1B- make one below, S2KP2-center double decrease (slip 2 stitches as if to knit 2 together, knit 1, pass 2 slipped stitches over knit stitch; centered double decrease)
• The shawl is knitted from one end to the other.
• The first stage of knitting involves adding stitches along the edge of the shawl from one end towards the another.
• The second stage of knitting involves knitting a lace border pattern.
• The third stage of knitting involves knitting of a ruffled border.
