Calm No Digit Mitts
These beautiful NDMs (no digit mitts), are a reminder of calm seas, with gentle ripples and a few sparkles. For those cooler times when the seaside beckons. Fingers are free for all those fiddly tasks! Very practical for children as they explore their environment.
A very easy pattern, suitable for beginners, or those who like a simpler, classic pattern. All you need to know is cast/bind on and off, knit, purl and rib, which is knit1 purl1. Yarn with sequins adds sparkle, (the first 5 photos), or alpaca rich yarn adds a wonderful cosy feeling! (The last 5 photos.) Any double knit/light worsted weight yarn is suitable, so you can ring the changes with all sorts of yarn, and the simplicity of the pattern allows the yarn to shine through.
Instructions are written line by line, in English, with British and American terms. The mitts are knitted flat on 2 needles and sewn up the side, leaving a gap for the thumb.
