Calm Seas Cowl
by Julie Witt
In the aftermath of the East Coast’s Hurricane Sandy and our West Coast’s 7.7 magnitude earthquake (thankfully minimal damage and no lives lost) I bring you my Calm Seas Cowl. A row of bubbles is suspended between the gentle ripples of garter stitch, representing the peacefulness of a calm day on the ocean.
The pattern is knit in the round on 5.5mm (US 8) 60cm (24”) circular needles and is suitable for a beginner knitter. It takes approximately 100 yards each of two worsted weight yarns, one solid color and one variegated.
Calm Seas can be worn as a long drapey cowl or wrapped twice for a cozy neck-warmer.
added “join in the round” after cast on
