Calming Waves Wrap
I designed Calming Waves Wrap in collaboration with Glenheaven Knits. She sent me this beautiful combination of yarn she dyed with ocean themed names. I immediately thought of waves. The wrap is knit on the bias and features slipped stitch texture, eyelets, lace, and garter stripes. Although it is a large wrap, it is never boring to knit. The yarn is luxuriously squishy, soft, light, and cozy. It is the perfect accessory to wrap up in.
The pattern contains both written and charted instructions for the lace.
Yarn
4 Ply Cashmere Sock by Glenheaven Knits (80% SW merino, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon, 437 yards (400 m), 100 g)
4 colors
C1 - Pebbles (black): 320 yards (293 m)
C2 - Seacrest (mustard): 140 yards (128 m)
C3 - Rockpool (blue): 437 yards (400 m)
C4 - Flotsam (white speckle): 437 yards (400 m)
Note: The sample used almost all of C3 and C4.
Since almost all of C3 and C4 are used, here are a few suggestions if you are concerned about running out of yarn: Weigh your skeins before and after one lace chart of 42 rows. This will tell you if you have enough for all 3 charts. C4 requires a little extra but if you are short, these rows can be eliminated. If you won’t have enough of C3 and C4 after the first chart, you can end Charts 3 and 6 after row 32 if needed.
Needles
US 5 (3.75 mm) 32” (80 cm) circular needles
