The Calentito slipper socks have been my most popular pattern to date, and it’s easy to see why: they strike that perfect balance between simple and complex, a traditional sock shape with a challenging but easy-to-memorize stitch pattern.
These new slipper socks follow that same recipe, but kick things up a notch—it’s time to add a new ingredient! Worked from the toe up, the Caluroso slipper socks feature garter slipped stitch at the toes and cuffs and a new challenge for the feet: cables worked over Fisherman’s Rib!
Once you get the hang of working the cable crosses, you’ll zip through these slippers in no time and be popping them on whenever your tootsies need warming up.

Sizes: Toddler (child S, child L, teen) women’s S, women’s M/men’s S, women’s L/men’s M, women’s XL/men’s L, men’s XL; finished foot circumference: 4 ½ (5 ½, 6 ½, 7 ½) 8, 8 ½, 9, 9 ½, 10”/11.5 (14, 16.5, 19) 20.5, 21.5, 23, 24, 25.5 cm

Gauge: 32 sts and 40 rnds = 4”/ cm in st st in the rnd, blocked, on larger needles
30 sts and 48 rnds = approx. 4”/10 cm in Fisherman’s Rib in the rnd, blocked, on smaller needles
Fisherman’s Rib is very flexible and easy to stretch; when in doubt, go down a needle size.

Yarn: Woolberry Fiber Co. Berry Sock, 80% superwash BFL, 20% nylon, 400 yd/3.5 oz (366 m/100 g):
