Calypso
ITA
ENG
Calypso in a top-down hat, seamless, worked in one piece in a spiral.
The body of the hat is crocheted in US single crochet, while the 3D petals require intermediate skills to be created.
Increasing the circumference of the hat, you shall, at the same time, increase the size of the shells.
The hat is completed with 2 rounds of beaded shells.
Beads are not pre-stringed, they are added to the project one by one. If you do not like beads, you can crochet picots on top of each shell, instead.
To crochet Calypso you must know how to work in the round, increase, decrease and the following stitches: chain (ch); double crochet (dc); double treble crochet (dtr); half double crochet (hdc); slip stitch (sl st); treble crochet (tr). Instructions are given for the special stitches used in the pattern, such as extended double crochet (edc); extended double treble crochet (edtr); extended treble crochet (etr); shells and beaded stitches.
