PATTERN NOTES
The hat starts with a ribbed brim, before switching to a cable and lace pattern. As the body of the hat progresses, the lace pattern gets smaller. Crown shaping completes the hat, which has a slightly slouchy shape.
Two sizes are provided in the pattern, but if you wish to make further adjustments, here are some suggestions. To alter the depth, adjust the depth of the ribbed brim. You can alter the circumference by adding or removing repeats of the 18 stitch motif, or you can add extra purl stitches between the lace and cable panels. Finally, small adjustments can also be made by using a smaller or larger needle to change the gauge. Do knit a swatch if you choose this approach, and check that you are happy with the knitted fabric.
