Camellia Flower
Camellia Flower is a crescent-shaped lace shawl, knitted from the top down.
This design was inspired by Alpenveilchen pattern by Herbert Niebling.
The pattern includes charts and pattern instructions; row-by-row written instructions are not included. All charts show only the right-side rows. On the wrong-side rows, all stitches are purled, unless otherwise specified.
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate
TOTAL NUMBER OF ROWS: 166
YARN: The sample is shown in Limageda Linas 600 (100% linen; 600 m 656 yds per 100 g). The sample shawl has required 900 m 984 yds, or 150 grams of yarn.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 200 cm 78 ¾″ wingspan and 82 cm 32 ¼″ deep, relaxed after wet blocking.
It is strongly recommended to use either natural fiber yarn (linen, cotton, wool, or silk) or yarn including a minimum of synthetic fiber; lace weight yarn is preferable, approximately 600 – 800 m (456 – 875 yds) per 100 g skein.
MATERIALS USED:
Size 3.25 mm US 3 circular needles;
Size 2.0 mm crochet hook for binding off, and for provisional cast-on (optionally);
Stitch markers, tapestry needle, and waste yarn for provisional cast-on.
You may need to adjust the needle size if using a different weight yarn. Also, your shawl may end up being larger or smaller depending on the weight of yarn and your individual way of knitting.
