Classic rib mittens and beret set.

The 1x1 ribbed set is knitted in a flexible rib with a tightening effect to offer a snug fit and warmth. The mittens are worked in the round from the wrist to the fingers, with some invisible increases to form the thumb.

The mitten’s end is then worked with some decreases to form a rounded finish. The beret is worked from the bottom up, with a series of invisible increases and decreases to shape the beret.

1 (1) skein of Kidsilk Haze by Rowan (25 g = 210 m/229 yards) (70% kid mohair, 30% silk) and 2 (4) skeins of Vilja by Filcolana (50 g = 165 m/180 yards) (100% baby alpaca).

Beret

1 (1) skein of Kidsilk Haze by Rowan (25 g = 210 m/229 yards) (70% kid mohair, 30% silk) and 2 (2) skeins of Vilja by Filcolana (50 g = 165 m/180 yards) (100% baby alpaca).

Both the mittens and beret are worked holding three strands of yarn together, one of Kidsilk Haze and two of Vilja.

For the samples we used Kidsilk Haze in colourway ”00664” and Vilja in colourway ”402”.

For the blue option we used Rowan Alpaca Soft DK in colourway “212” Marine Blue held together with Rowan Kidsilk Haze in colourway “660” Turkish Plum.

NEEDLES

3.5 mm / US 4 circular needle, cable length 40 or 60 cm / 16 or 24” for the beret.

3.5 mm / US 4 DPN for the mittens and beret.
