Camino de Paz
Knit-along and walk-along begins on November 1.
NOTE: When you begin the body of the cowl, switch to the larger needles.
Introducing Camino de Paz, a path of peace; an appropriately named project for this November’s walk-along. Each April and November, I host a knit-along and walk-along to help others tackle the barriers that accompany the change in the seasons. Let’s walk, let’s knit, let’s enjoy each other’s company and let’s definitely not overwhelm ourselves with a complicated project.
Walk your way through November right into Project Peace.
This November, I’m shifting away from the mystery KAL; you can see the project before you begin. It’s a simple cowl that makes a perfect first colorwork project but will delight even the experienced knitter. You’ll want one to wear walking and if you receive the same reaction I do when I show this cowl to others, you’ll be knitting several for friends and family. This makes the perfect gift!
Yarn: Use any sport weight yarn. The pattern is easily modified for different weight yarns. You need 2 skeins total; 1 of each color. I used a grey (background) and rose (motif).
Needles: You’ll need two sets of 16” circular needles; one to knit the body and a size smaller for the ribbing.
Finished size (blocked): 24 in. (61 cm) (width) by ~11 in. (28 cm) (length)
Walk-along: This month’s walk-along will be a 30-day challenge. Yes, that’s right, make a commitment to walk every day in November. It doesn’t matter if it’s 5 minutes or 50 so it should work for most everyone. A logging sheet is provided to keep track of your accomplishments.
Give-away: Keep track of your daily walking on the logging sheet or post a daily photo to Instagram. Document all 30 days, send me an email on 12/1 and you’ll be entered into a give-away (project bag, yarn). But really, if you walked all 30 days, the real prize is your huge accomplishment.
