Camouflage Gear
The vest, beret, ammo belt, sleeping bag and tent are all made to fit an 11 1/2 inch male doll.
The vest and beret are made with a size 3/2.10mm steel hook and 1 strand of fudge brown crochet thread held together with 1 strand of forest green crochet thread. The pockets, flaps and straps on the vest are made with a size 7/1.65mm steel hook and 1 strand of fudge brown or forest green crochet thread. Snaps are sewn onto the straps so the vest can be snapped closed while being worn.
The ammo belt is made with a size 7/1.65mm steel hook and 1 strand of forest green crochet thread. Medium bugle beads are used for the “ammo”.
The “mummy style” sleeping bag and dome tent are made with a size G/4mm hook and Red Heart Sport yarn in camouflage multi. The tent frame is made from 2 wire coat hangers, which can be removed, if desired. The tent also folds in half when not set up. It has a door flap and tie straps to hold the door either open or closed.
“Every hero needs these rough-and-ready action accessories.” (from Crochet World magazine, August 2009)
