This easy to knit camp beanie knits up super fast making it a great travel project. I love the simple detail that makes it interesting. For a travel knit, I generally steer away from patterns that include cables, not that cabling is difficult to keep track of, but rather for fear of losing my cable needle. This particular pattern calls for just a touch of cable that could be handled without using a cable needle. I have made this beanie numerous times; but this is the first time I have actually taken the time to write down my pattern. Although it may look complicated, it is actually quite a simple knit with a slightly different way to knit the hat’s crown.

For sizing adjust needle size.
A size 7 needle for an adult small head ( or young adult ) and a size 8 needle for a medium to Large head.
