Campervan Blanket (VW Splitscreen / Kombi bus)
On frequent trips to VW events we often see slumbering children being towed around in Radio Flyers or Retro Wagons so I though it might be nice to have a go at a blanket pattern - campervan themed of course - so you can keep your little ‘uns snug too!
Of course there is no reason at all to keep this for the kids, the pattern will allow for any size you like, just keep knitting those strips!
The pattern includes charts for the pictures and a basically strips of “squares” stitched together then edged with a garter stitch border.
You need knowledge of knitting with more than one colour per row but the stitches are basic - stocking stitch and garter stitch.
What you’ll need:
The blanket shown in the photo is approx. 107cm long and 61cm wide and took 400g of double knitting yarn (I used Stylecraft) (200g main colour, 100g each of 2 contrasting colours plus oddments of yarn in a colour for the wheels and windows)
UK no. 8 needles (US size 6, metric 4mm).
The pattern is my own design so please just keep it for yourself.
Thank you and have fun!
