I have designed this pattern thinking of Angelina Jolie’s movie, Salt. In the movie, she wears a simple ribbed short beanie that looks quite soldierly. I liked that beanie except the crown shape - it looked too round for my head. So I designed something wearable for myself.

My teenage daughter saw my beanie and quite liked it. She demanded one for herself and asked me to knit one with folded brim. She rarely asks me to knit anything lately because she’s become quite fussy in her fashion since she’s hit her adolescence. According to her, this kind of beanie I made is very hot among teens lately because many idol celebrities wear this kind of short beanies. Of course, I did not really see this coming but I almost felt honoured that she picked my design.

I dedicate my design to all mums who would like to knit a fashionable simple short beanie to her daughter and at the same time, enjoy it yourself too. My initial intention was to cover up my boofy hair in the mornings.
