The subtle geometric design of this hat was created around the notion that some secrets are best kept locked away, like a carefully handwritten entry in a diary, tucked beneath a mattress.

The hat begins with a tubular style cast on setup, worked flat, and continues with a ribbed brim worked in the round. The body features a two-color mosaic motif—each round is worked with one color only, and the secret design emerges using slipped stitches. The mosaic stitch pattern is charted.
