Canadian Wool Mittens Diamond
I was thrilled to create this incredibly warm mittens made from 100% authentic Huacaya alpaca from Prairie Spirit Alpacas in Millarville Alberta. It brought me back about 40 years when Cowichan/Salish inspired knitting was first introduced to me. I was inspired by these designs to create a warm pair of alpaca mittens.
Using smaller needs these mittens are thick, dense and warm! With the benefits of 100% alpaca, they are my go to on cold Canadian days (and nights).
The lopi wool for this yarn comes from a premium Huacaya Alpaca fleece farm located in the Foothills of Alberta. Huacaya fiber grows and looks similar to sheep wool in that the animal looks “fluffy”. It is a soft, durable, luxurious and silky natural fiber.
