This is an intermediate fairly quick pattern. Make the beanie by itself or for the intent of adding the appliqué.

One size fits most and pattern can be adjusted with hook size

skein of medium/4 worsted weight yarn needed for beanie and some scrap yarn for stripe and appliqué

5mm hook for beanie & appliqué
