As with most patterns related to cancer, this one was developed in response to the news that my niece’s husband was diagnosed with lung cancer, that had metastasized. They have two adorable little girls and I wanted to create a hat that they could wear to support their daddy. Daddy’s getting a “F@CK CANCER” hat but I thought that was a little raw for little girls. Hence, I designed this chart. Haven’t knit it up, yet, but I’m planning on using DK weight and a basic roll brim hat for them. I also found that there are specific “Cancer Colors” so I will pick that for the main color of the hat, but leave the “C’ and Red Circle & Slash as is.
