Combining cable and lace stitches is always an exciting adventure for me. This shawl features a decorative cable and rib body and a border that catches the eye instantly. The cables of the body are like small brooks flowing into a river, they twist and turn until they become one of the defining elements of the border. These big cables are separated by a mesh texture with a touch of floral folk art.

Candela is a crescent-shaped shawl. The pattern contains instructions for two sizes, however, it’s possible to adjust the size by simply working more or less repeats of the body pattern. The body will still flow into the border smoothly, without having to change anything in the pattern.

The pattern contains charted and written, clear, easy-to-follow instructions. The pattern was both tech edited and tested. You can find the first page of the PDF uploaded among the pictures on the left. Pattern layout by graphic designer Eva Benke.
