I needed some toddler-friendly (non-breakable) ornaments for my Christmas Tree this year, which is why I came up with this candy cane.

It’s knit in the round around a pipe cleaner. Working around a pipe cleaner, especially changing colors around a pipe cleaner can be a bit fiddly at first (unfortunately, it is the most fiddly during the first few rounds, before you have any practice at all), but don’t give up, because it knits quickly once you get the hang of it.

Like most toys/decorations exact gauge is not important. Just make sure your fabric knits up firm and stiff.
