Spring has come, so I designed some spring socks for a friend, with an easy lace pattern on the cuff and instep, and a crochet edge.

Please favorite the pattern if you download it :)

Errata: Page 5: Heel Turn/ decreasing: … You are now going to work the 55 heel sts with color 1 pink dream, in stockinette stitch.
The errata has been corrected in last update.

Thanks to Mimouna for testknitting!

The heel is my variation of the “Strong heel”, with gusset and heel knitted at the same time, followed by a heel turn. There is no need of picking up stitches with this type of heel, and it fits a high arch. The heel increases are knit on every side of the rib section. Because of the low angle of the heel, the socks are a bit lower on back than in front. Therefore, the cuff is worked a bit higher in back than in front, shaped by some short rows in the beginning and using the knitted cast on.
The original heel was created and presented for the first time by Gerdine Crawford-Strong in Knitter’s Magazine, Fall 2003.

I knit a bit loose. If you’re a tight knitter, you may want to adjust your needle size.
