Candy Pie Shawlette
If you’re looking for a colorful knitting adventure, knit up several slices of the Candy Pie Pattern, and you will have a beautiful crescent shaped shawlette! This shawlette is knit in one piece from the top down in stockinette stitch with yarn over increases that form 3 wedges as it expands towards the border. It is officially a semicircular shape, but forms a crescent as you knit it because the ends begin to curve inwards, and is about 5 ½ feet in length. Because it isn’t too long in length, it can be worn by an older child all the way through adult. A cabled, applied border called Taffy Pull Twist is added simultaneously at cast off, and forms the “pie crust” to the wedges of candy pie. I include complete row counts for the body of the shawlette in the pattern even though you are simply working from place marker to place marker. There are no charts since the patterns are simple. It is knit in 500 yards of gorgeous hand-dyed Italian Merino DK weight multi-colored yarn that is dry-cleanable only. Truly a work of art guaranteed to make you stand out in a crowd!
