This shawlette is knit in one piece from the top down in stockinette stitch with yarn over increases that form 3 wedges as it expands towards the border. It is officially a semicircular shape, but forms a crescent as you knit it because the ends begin to curve inwards, and is about 5 ½ feet in length. Because it isn’t too long in length, it can be worn by an older child all the way through adult. A cabled, applied border called Taffy Pull Twist is added simultaneously at cast off, and forms the “pie crust” to the wedges of candy pie.
