Designed to fit 3.5” (9 cm) tall plastic eggs, these cozy knits make perfect Easter decorations. Simply slip the egg inside the knitted cozy and complete the last three rounds with the egg in place. With Candy Stripe Eggs, you’ll have a blast creating adorable, snug homes for your Easter eggs - and impressing your friends and family with your knitting prowess!
Techniques Used:
Turkish cast on
Small diameter knitting in the round
Jogless stripes
Knit front and back increases
Knit 2 together decreases
Materials Needed:
Yarn:
20 yards each of MC and CC, fingering weight yarn
Needles:
US 1 / 2.25 mm DPNs or 32” / 81 cm circular needle or size needed to achieve gauge
Notions and additional materials:
Stitch marker to mark beginning of round
Tapestry needle
Plastic egg, 3.5” / 9 cm tall
Finished Measurements:
Fits a 3.5” / 9 cm tall plastic egg with negative ease.
Gauge: 17 sts and 23 rounds over 2”/ 5 cm in stockinette in the round.
