Candyfloss Scarf
The Candyfloss Scarf & Cowl can be made with a bulky mohair or a lighter-weight mohair held double. I’ve knit this up in both a mohair and an alpaca-silk blend, and found both options worked very well. With the open, lacy stitch paired with very lightweight wool, this scarf or cowl practically floats around your neck, while still offering coziness and warmth. Check out the pattern for the Candyfloss Hat if you’re looking to make a matching winter set!
YARN
Scarf: 210/300 m of bulky mohair or other fluffy wool, or a worsted to Aran weight mohair or other blend held double (therefore requiring double the yardage). The white scarf pictured was made with the now discontinued Scheepjes Original Mohair. Replacement suggestion: Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk held double.
Cowl: 90/110/130 m of bulky mohair or other fluffy wool, or a worsted to Aran weight mohair or other blend held double (therefore requiring double the yardage). The fawn-colored cowl was made with Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk held double (2 balls required, each ball = 25g/140m).
