Canyonland
This striking eight-color blanket is a masterclass in tone blending and texture. A series of short rows creates waves of color and repeating circles reminiscent of traditional paper-pieced quilts. These shapely organic waves are softer than traditional stripes, and their tonal color combinations yield a beautiful optical effect. The pebbly texture of Canyonland will be more (or less) pronounced depending on how much you stretch the fabric when blocking. Purl ridges are worked at the top of each band to highlight the wave forms and add subtle texture throughout. The blanket shown presents a harmonious, warm color story of overdyed yarns. Explore creative color stories of your own to make a one-of-a-kind piece that stimulates your imagination.

Construction
Blanket is worked flat in one piece from the bottom up. Short-row wedges are worked within each stripe of color to create the wave motif.
