Caonach
The pattern is being revised and will be re-released at a later time.
A year ago I was trying to learn about the different types of moss stitches, but Google kept bombarding me with pictures of moss-grown rocks and stonewalls, and when I specifically searched for “Irish moss” it gave me a strange word that turned out to be Irish for “moss”.
The pretty word and the images of dark stones sitting in the shadows and growing velvety green pillows gave me an idea to finally use a yarn I bought a while ago but just kept shuffling it from one corner to the other.
After a number of swatches, trials and errors I ended up with a lovely sweater that I now wear proudly. The dark slate grey body paired with a moderate waist shaping makes the wearer look taller and more slender, while the lively green of the busy pattern softens and warms up the overall image, much like a heavily moss grown rock offers a much more friendly seat for a rest to the flagging hiker than a cold and bare one.
